Abraham L. Fredrick Sr.

January 30, 1961 — December 7, 2009

Abraham “Abe” L. Frederick Sr., age 48, of Poplar, MT passed away December 7, 2009 at his residence in Poplar.

Abe was born to Hattie and Louis Frederick on January 30, 1961 in Poplar. He was the youngest of thirteen siblings.

On May 19, 1990 he married Tanya Bear and they were blessed with three children: Stacy (Jared) Standing of Billings, MT, Shelly and Abraham Frederick Jr. of Poplar. Abe and Tanya divorced but remained close.

Abe’s favorite kind of work was the work that could be done outside. He enjoyed mowing lawns, tilling yards—anything he could use his tractor for. He also enjoyed putting up fences, painting, growing his garden and fishing. Fishing especially. He and his son, Abraham Jr., went fishing several times this past summer. His youngest daughter was barely two years old her first time she went fishing and he always talked of taking his grandson fishing as soon as he could walk.

He had many loves in this life including Pepsi, fried chicken and Marlboro lites which is why he is not with us today. He also loved John Wayne and Chevy Chase movies. He loved dogs. He loved all of his children and would’ve done anything for them; he was overprotective to say the least. If anyone ever tried to mess with any of his children he would be all over the situation. He was close to all of them, but closest to his boy, Abraham.

In fact, if you’ve ever had a conversation with little Abe you would know he is very much like his father, from his vocabulary to his mannerisms to his hobbies. They were the best of friends.

Abe is survived by his three children, Stacy (Jared) Standing of Billings, MT, Shelly and Abraham Frederick Jr. of Poplar; their mother Tanya of Poplar; his grandson Calvin of Billings, and his brothers and sisters Martha Bridges, Esther Steuhm, Ruth Frederick, Sara (Dennis) Thompson, Mary Frederick and David (Beth) Frederick all of Poplar, and Peter Frederick of Nashua; and many nephews and nieces.

Abe is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Hattie Frederick and brothers Joe, Mark, Sam, Leroy and John.

Prayer Service will begin 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, Poplar. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, Poplar.
