Agnes Valentina (Kasten) Sukut passed away peacefully in her sleep at St. John’s Lutheran Home on Friday, January 19, 2018. She was the wife of Ervin Sukut. They shared an incredible life together and are now reunited in Heaven, with their son Wade and many loved ones. She will be greatly missed.
Agnes was born to Frank and Katherine Kasten in Watkins, MT on February 14, 1934. She was one of nine girls and a sibling to five boys.
Agnes attended Gackle elementary school southwest of Brockway near her fathers homestead. She went on to attend Mobridge High School in South Dakota for two years and then returned to Circle to graduate from Circle High School.
After Ervin returned from WWII, he and Agnes married on October 18, 1953. Together, they built a life on their farm and ranch Southwest of Brockway. Soon, they welcomed their first child Mike into their family. Wade, Joe, Jeff and Julie were soon to follow to complete the family. For the next 30 years, Agnes’ life was full of gardening, chasing kids to ballgames, fast trips to church (where she played for weekly services for over 50 years), and enjoying exciting harvest seasons.
After selling the farm, they moved from Circle to Bozeman, where she found another passion and her next personal challenge in selling real estate. Agnes worked and thrived in the Bozeman real estate market, making her mark until her health started to decline. She was well known for her honesty and integrity.
Agnes resided at St. John’s Lutheran Home for the last five years, in Billings, MT. where she was familiar with several residents from Circle and the surrounding area. Her care while there was exceptional.
Agnes is survived by her sons and daughter: Mike (Lessa) of Billings, Joe (Sheri) of Billings, Jeff (Kim) Greybull, WY, Julie of Bozeman, daughter in-law Dianne of Circle, her brother David (Betty Lou) of Circle, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Agnes is preceded in death by her loving husband Ervin, and her son Wade, three great grand children, her parents; eight sisters, Lena, Margaret, Pearl, Edith, Esther, Nora, Evelyn, and Alice; and four brothers, Albert, Paul, Frankie, and Harold.
Funeral services will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Circle MT at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24th. Internment following. Viewing opportunities will begin at 9:00a.m. prior to the service. A reception will be held at the Round Town café after the internment.
