Alesia Jane Black Dog, age 40, of Poplar, MT our “Baby girl” went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 30, 2013 with her family by her side at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
She was born on November 11, 1972 at the Poplar Hospital to Arletta Black Dog and William Necklace. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She always had a smile and a joke to tell. Her laughter will be missed by all who knew her. She spent her time watching old movies, listening to music, and traveling. In her younger years, she was a fancy shawl dancer and attended powwows near and far. She learned how to dance by listening to her great-grandpa Matt Black Dog and the Fort Kipp Singers. Her aunt, Ida Black Dog, took her out for her first dance. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1991 and was the Salutatorian.
Baby girl is survived by her mother, Arletta Black Dog of Brockton; father, William Necklace of Brockton; children, Avery, Allery, Armon, and Ariana all of Brockton; grandchildren, Erin Lee of Poplar and Aevryn of Brockton; brother, Arnon (Faith) Black Dog of Poplar; cousins, Lenny, Terry, Frenchy, Bug, and Dude Rattling Thunder all of Brockton, and Jaten Young Bear of Wolf Point; grandmothers, Loretta Bear Cub of Fort Kipp, Rita Long Chase and Waspi Youngman of Poplar; grandfather, Mike Youngman of Poplar; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mathew Sr., and Delma Black Dog; paternal grandparents, Christine Lizotte and Felix Necklace; aunts, Linda Rattling Thunder, and Mae Dunst; uncles, Mathew Jr., and Philmore; and cousins, Lenore and Thomas John.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, June 6 at the Cultural Center in Brockton. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Cultural Center in Brockton. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Riverside, MT.
