Alex Norman Calder went home to be with the Lord on January 4 th 2017 after complications from his health. It was during this time Alex accepted Jesus Christ and had his own personal experience with the Lord.
Alex was born June 15, 1953 in Poplar, Montana to Alex Calder SR. and Philomene Belgarde. He grew up in Helena, Montana, where he attended school until 10 th grade. He moved back to Wolf Point, Montana in 1972, where he received his GED from Fort Peck Community College. He later received his AA and Accounting Degrees. In 1980 on April Fool’s Day he met and later married Brenda Azure on May 28 , 1987.
His occupations consisted of construction and masonry work in various places. He also worked as a cashier for Town Pump for a short number of years and eventually retired as an outstanding CHR driver for the Fort Peck Tribes. During this time he was able to travel many places such as California, Las Vegas, Nevada and on his way to Mobile Alabama he and Brenda went through Memphis, Tennessee to tour Graceland. Alex enjoyed the outdoors where he did a lot of hunting, fishing, camping and hiking in the mountains.
Alex is survived by his wife, Brenda; his four children Billie Jo (Ray) Calder, Jason (Paschon) Azure, Cyrus Calder and Ashley Calder; Melvin (Nemo) Azure Jr. whom he accepted as a son. He is leaving behind his twin sister, Theresa Calder; brother, David Calder and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Preceding Alex in death are his parents Alex Calder SR and Philomene Belgarde; sisters, Pharaby Patty and Janice White Horse; brothers, William “Chopper” Calder, Bruce Calder and Eddy Calder; and a nephew, Jimmy Calder.
A visitation with a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Blue Sky Ministries in Wolf Point, MT. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday January 9, 2017 at the Blue Sky Ministries in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
