Alice Jean Doornek, age 77, of Wolf Point, MT passed away on January 18, 2011 at the Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point.
Alice was born November 28, 1933 in Wolf Point to George and Alta (Bucholz) Good. She was raised on the family farm, in the Sunnyside community, south of Wolf Point. Following her graduation from Wolf Point High School in 1951 Alice married Myron “Bud” Doornek in Glasgow on October 4, 1951.
Together they farmed and raised their six children in the Grandview community, south of Poplar. In 1991 they retired from the farm and moved to Wolf Point where Alice worked part-time at Treasure Chest Gifts. Bud passed away in 2003. Alice was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Riverside and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. She was active in Altar Society and the Montana Farmers Union.
Alice is survived by her four sons, Wayne (Sheila) and Gary (Connie) of Livingston, MT, Alan of Winnemucca, NV and Jerry (Kelly) of Glasgow, MT; two daughters, Kathy Doornek of Wolf Point and Cheryl Borne of Prescott Valley, AZ; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren and another due in April. Also surviving is Alice’s brother, Larry Good of Wolf Point.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; her parents; one sister; and two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Monday, January 24 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point with Father Jolley officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point.
