Alvin Julius Savior, Sr. age 57 of Poplar, MT. He was born April 27, 1952 in Poplar, MT to Gladys Crazy Bull and Earlwin Savior, Sr.
Alvin was raised by his grandmother Isabelle Youngman Hollow. Alvin went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2009 at the Poplar Hospital.
Alvin attended schools at Poplar, MT, Shalako, OK, St. Labre, MT, and Pierre, SD. He received his GED in December of 1975. He joined the United states Marine Corp September 15, 1972 and was honorably discharged September 9, 1974. He was a member of the Warrior Society and Post 54 Firing Squad. Alvin worked all his life at various jobs but, he loved truck driving. He was last employed with BIA roads Dept. He always looked forward to going back to work. Alvin enjoyed cruising around listening to Oldies, watching old Western movies. He also liked to go fishing and hunting. He enjoyed visiting family and friends. He also had a sense of humor and loved to tease.
On November 1, 2003 Alvin married the love of his life Mary C. Drum. They made their home in Poplar, MT.
Alvin is survived by his love Mary C. Savior of Poplar, MT, Sons Alvin Jr. (Cheryl) Savior of Brockton, MT, Joseph (Johnna) Savior of Glasgow, MT, Richard Savior, Wacey Savior both of Poplar, MT, his three sisters Verbena (Royce) Jackson, Mavis (Keith) Hernandez and Pauline Boxer all of Poplar, MT. He is also survived by his aunts Myrna Charboneau and family, Faye Peterson and family, Janet Spencer and family, Velma Keever and family, Rita Long Chase and family, Florence Youngman and family, Melinda Shields Youpee and family, Diane Martin and family and Sandra Birthmark; uncles Mike Youngman and family, Julian Shields and family and Sheldon Birthmark. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and adopted brothers, sisters and parents; He is also survived by his stepchildren Ida (Darrell) Follette, Allen (Laureen) Russell, Curtis Jr., and Sariah Red Eagle all of poplar, MT, Brian (Trudy) Eder of Brockton, MT. One adopted son Shane Freeman of Poplar, MT. One adopted daughter Apryl Stormy of Poplar, MT. His grandchildren Jason, Alina, Joseph Jr., Precious, Cherish, Danielle, Allieah Savior, Rhianne and Kya Iron Bear, Darrell Jr. and Neal Follette, Alleen, Princess, Malcom, Allen III, Maryah Russell, and Kyra Stormy all of Poplar, MT. Jasmine, Brian Jr., Hally and Aiyanna Eder of Brockton, MT. He is also survived by a special granddaughter his “Dimples” Chelle Rose Follette of Poplar, MT.
Alvin is preceded in death by his parents Gladys Crazy Bull and Earlwin Savior, Sr. His grandmother Isabelle Youngman Hollow, brothers and sisters Sam, Warren, Louisa Savior, Jerome Smith, Marveen Larson, Maxine Ugalde, a daughter Allie Iron Bear.
His extended families include Crazy Bull, Yellow Owls, Weinberger, Youngman, Eagleman, Shields, Youpee, Menz, and Greybears. If we have forgotten anyone we apologize it was not our intention.
A wake will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Poplar Cultural Center. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 also at the Poplar Cultural Center. Burial will follow in the Poplar City Cemetery.
