Anita Nylene Iron Cloud, of Wolf Point, MT, RODE ON THE THUNDERBIRD August 1, 2008. Anita was born on May 4, 1956 in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of Myrna Boyd & the late Thomas Iron Cloud.
Anita is survived by her children, Althea Iron Cloud & family of Wolf Point, Albert (Collista) Schindler & family of Billings, MT, Aaron (Marie) Perry & family of Ft. Washakie, WY, Alwin “Bugg” Dubois of Wolf Point, Alaric (Marsha) Low Dog & family of Durango, CO, Arienne Low Dog & family of Wolf Point, Jeffery “Bee Cee” Low Dog of Wolf Point, and her long-time friend and companion Dennis Granbois.
She is also survived by her mother, Myrna J. Boyd; sisters, Linda (Jackie) Iron Cloud & family, Theresa Iron Cloud & family, Laurie & Al Hulm & family , Ruby Fowler & niece Rosalyn Fowler, Myrna Whitright & family all of Wolf Point, MT; brothers, Chauncey Whitright & family, and Boyd & Pat Whitright & family.
Anita was the first-born of five sisters and four brothers. She was our protector, our hero, and was filled “with life”. She was always ready to make people laugh sharing jokes or teasing. She especially liked to visit with her nieces & nephews and tease or score on them “old school” ( 4 schizzel). Her children and her family are always No.1 in her heart. Anita’s other life passions were books, she always had a book to read wherever she was or whatever she was doing; if she had a spare moment she whipped out a book. She loved music. She was a rock & roll encyclopedia. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, baby sitting grandkids, rummage sales, crossword puzzles, storm watching, playing machines, taking walks, (until arthritis took over her knees), flying kites, star gazing, and a new pastime “text messaging”. These last few years of her life she dedicated to the care of our mother who was stricken with lung cancer.
She is the strength and soul of our family and we are deeply saddened by her loss, but we have the happiness of her memories.
Anita was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Ira Iron Cloud; brothers, William J. Whitright and Donald W. Whitright; great grandparents, William & Meta Boyd; grandmother, Florence Iron Ring (Belton); grandfather James A. Boyd; Uncles, Irving Iron Cloud Wayne Boyd, Sr., Joseph Boyd; Aunts, Angelina Iron Cloud & Betty Iron Cloud,; grandmother, Elisabeth Manning; and Niece Chelsea Four Star.
Prayer Services: Wednesday, August 6, 2008, 7:00 pm, at Wolf Point Community Hall. Funeral Services: Thursday August 7, 2008, 10:00am, at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at King Memorial Cemetery in Wolf Point.
