Archie Arnjot Hove, age 81, of Circle, MT passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Eastern Montana Veteran Home in Glendive, MT.
Archie, the son of Andrew and Mabel Hove, was born on June 11, 1932 at the Hove Family Homestead in Dawson County, MT. He joined the Air Force and in October 1949, was stationed at Fort F.E. Warren in Wyoming. In November 14, 1953, Archie married Kathleen H. Fry in Wolf Point. Archie was employed at the ASCS in Circle, MT in the early 60’s, he then started farming and remained farming through 2013.
Dad was a “true Norwegian”. He looked forward to the yearly lutefisk and lefse supper at Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive. He enjoyed receiving Norwegian “gifts” from his “Polock” daughter-in-law. He drove daily to the farm to work and tend to his cats. Dad was a strict but loving man. He was always there to support and encourage us. A quiet and private man, he was proud of his family accomplishments. He enjoyed playing cards and cribbage. Watching family playing sports and playing musical instruments were his interests. He always had a smile when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren (who he loved to tease) were around. He enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his numerous grandchildren. He enjoyed laughing and being with different family members during hunting excursions.
Archie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathleen Hove of Circle; daughter, Daleen (Tom) Heitz of Glendive, MT; sons, Arnie Hove of Kalispell, MT, Sydney (Mary) Hove of Minot, ND, Mark (Gina) Hove of Circle, and Philip Hove of York, PA; sister, Borghild Skyberg of Fort Peck, MT; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mabel Hove; sister, Olga Monroe; brothers, Stanley Hove and Lawrence Hove; and grandson, Christopher Hove.
