Arlene June Red Eagle passed away on March 21, 2020 in Poplar, Montana. Arlene was born on June 4, 1951 in Poplar to Raymond and Gertrude Yellow Owl. She attended schools in Poplar and in 1979 gained her GED.
Arlene married Vernon “Vern” Red Eagle and they were married for 47 years. She loved her family and enjoyed taking her grandkids to church every Sunday. She also enjoyed crafting, stitching, and playing bingo and keno.
Arlene worked at A&S, Sunrise, Tribal Express Deli, Suds and Duds laundry mat, and as a part time janitor for the Fort Peck Tribes throughout her life.
Arlene is survived by her husband Vernon “Vern” Red Eagle of Poplar; her seven children, Vernon Kool (Jeannette) Red Eagle Sr, Denise (Calvin) Lester, Aaron (Danna) Red Eagle, Nell Red Eagle, Pauline Red Eagle; her grandchildren that she raised as her own, Grandson Red Eagle, Michael and Thomas Jerome, Moses and Jameson Burshia, and her namesake Arlene June Red Eagle; her sisters, Marie Corrine and Sharon Yellow Owl; her brothers Mike Yellow Owl and James Burshia; her loving in-laws, the Red Eagles; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Gertrude Yellow Owl; brothers Willie, Warren, Doug, Myron, and Chucky Yellow Owl; her sister Rhonda Yellow Owl; her grandson Emillo; her nephew Donald; and her niece Teri.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Poplar City Cemetery. Due to the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus, public officials have strongly recommended to keep funeral services to family and close friends. We ask that if anyone is not feeling well to please stay home and get feeling better.
