On Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings , MT our beloved, mother, grandma, and sister, Arlene F. Ricker, age 63, of Poplar, MT went to be with her beloved ones and the Lord.
She was born to Earl Jones, Sr. and Lillian (Lester) Jones on March 16, 1949.
She married Virgil W. Ricker, Sr. on April 24, 1968 in Wolf Point, MT. To this union, they had two children; Lanelle and Virgil, Jr. They also raised Bronica Uses Arrow as their own. She attended school in Poplar, MT, Stevan, SD, Clinton, IA, and St. Louis, MO.
She enjoyed the company of her grandkids, friends, and family every day; whether they were watching her favorite soap operas or going to her grandson’s football games. She cherished their time together, especially during the holidays when they were all together to eat.
Arlene is survived by her children, Lanelle (James) Iron Bear and Virgil “Moosie” Ricker both of Poplar; grandkids, Darren, Darian, Virgil “Spanky” Merculieff, Jesse, Alisa (Ben),Brittany (Lawrence), and James Jr. (Kimberly) all of Poplar; great grandkids, Shawn, Jaymin Wise Spirit, Angel Wise Spirit, Kayla Jackie, Mary Rose Iron Bear all of Poplar; three brothers, Joe, Edgar, and Maynard (Juanita) Jones all of Poplar; two half-sisters, Juanita (Doug) and Naomi Montclair both of Poplar; sister-in-law, Vivian Jones of Poplar; nephews, Stanley “Cowboy”, Waylon, Bill, Chubbs, Ralph, Manny, Fritz, Baby Maynard, and Leland; nieces, DeAnne, Earlene, Marta, LaDonna, Alva, Sylvia, Lillian, Baby E, and Farrah; and extended families in Brockton and Poplar.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lillian; husband, Virgil; daughter, Bronica “Lottie”; brothers, Earl, Jr., Richard “Buck”; sisters, Mary Jane, Rita, Ester Marie, Veronica, and Myrtle; aunt, Gladys; and numerous other relatives.
She is greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A vigil will be held 7 p.m. Friday, October 12 at the Cultural Center in Poplar, MT. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 13 also at the Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment will follow at the St. Ann’s Cemetery in Poplar.
Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
