Arnold Louis Fast Horse, age 31, of Wolf Point, MT, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010 in Wolf Point, MT.

Arnold was born on May 16, 1979 in Wolf Point, MT to Michael and Barbara Fast Horse Sr. He attended school in Wolf Point and Wahpeton. He also attended Job Corps at the Kicking Horse and Trapper Creek Job Corps Centers where he received his certificate in Carpentry. Arnold was employed at the Silverwolf Casino and the F.P.H.A.

Arnie was a champion traditional dancer, a whistle carrier and pipe carrier. He began dancing at a very young age; he took 1st place at the United Tribes International Powwow in Bismarck, ND. He liked playing basketball and listening to music.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Ricker Fast Horse of Wolf Point, MT; brothers Pat Brown Sr. of Wolf Point, MT, Larry Martin of Wolf Point, MT, Joseph Muniz III of Wolf Point, MT, Wayne “Poody” Saunders of Wolf Point, MT, Michael Fast Horse Jr. of Poplar, MT, Gordon Fast Horse of Poplar, MT, John Fast Horse Poplar, MT, and Clarence Fast Horse of Poplar, MT; sisters, Shelly Al-Thani of Doha, Qutar, Helen Martin of Wolf Point, MT, Cynthia Grey Bull of Billings, MT, Michelene Fast Horse of Wolf Point, MT, Teri Fast Horse of Wolf Point, MT, and Cinda Fast Horse of Poplar, MT; maternal grandmother, Beryl Jordenson of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada ; adopted mother, Melinda Shields of Poplar, MT; uncles, Ronald Ricker Sr. of Wolf Point, MT, Tommy Christian of Poplar, MT, and Leonard Rattling Thunder Sr. of Riverside, MT; aunts, Lyda Bears Tail of New Town, ND, Peggy Ricker of Wolf Point, MT, Donna Ricker of Wolf Point, MT, Laurie Japp of Spokane, WA, and Jackie Perry of Ft. Kipp, MT; special grandchildren, Julian Runs Above of Wolf Point, MT, Sequoia Casarez of North Platte, Nebraska, and Betty and Kay Kay Martin of Poplar, MT.

Arnie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Joe Ricker and Helen Manley; paternal grandparents, Britton Fast Horse and Helen Rattling Thunder; father, Michael Fast Horse Sr.; brother, Jack Martin; and nephew, Maynard “Tre” Longee III.

A wake will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar, MT. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar, MT. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Brockton, MT.
