Arvin E. McNabb, Sr., 75, of Great Falls, MT formerly of Wolf Point, MT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Faith Lutheran Home surrounded by his family. Arvin was born on November 23, 1939 to Leo and Lottie McNabb. He was born 3 miles outside of Slattsville, they didn’t make it to the hospital. He attended schools at North Pasture Creek and Wolf Point. In 1956, Arvin met Brita Murdock and they were wed on December 1, 1956. To this union, they had three children, Arvin Jr, Linda, and Karen. They were married for 45 years until her passing in 2002. In 2004, he moved to Great Falls after retiring. There he met Kathy Hinchcliffe, who was his loving companion for 10 years until his passing.
In the late 50’s and early 60’s Arvin worked farming and ranching for Bob Rusche and Dewy Forsness. He then went to work for Randolph Construction for 14 years. In 1981, he started working for Roosevelt County Road Department, retiring in 2004. Arvin liked to go hunting, camping, traveling, and to take long cruises out in the country and listen to country music. Arvin loved to be around his family and visit. He is preceded in death by his wife, Brita; son, Arvin Jr.; parents, Leo and Lottie; brothers, Wayne, Raymond, Roy, Alvin (Pete), Gene, and Marvin (Dick).
Survivors include his loving companion, Kathy Hinchcliffe; daughters, Linda Collins (Dale) of Havre, Karen McNabb of Wolf Point, and Marlyce “Punkie” Jackson of Wolf Point; nieces, Sarah Figueroa, Judy Hopkins, Dinah Littlehead; grandchildren, Derek (Lindsey) McNabb, George “Peewee” (KayCee) Belcourt, Michelle (Brodie) McNabb, and Stephanie Collins; great grandchildren, Malia McNabb, Kristen Belcourt, Mark Belcourt, Kobe Belcourt, Cole Womack, and Baby Russell McNabb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dad and Grandpa, you were a hardworking man all your life and taught us well. We love you and we will miss you dearly.
A vigil will be held 6 p.m. Friday, June 12 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
