Audrey M. Buckles, age 90, of Poplar, MT joined her loved ones in Heaven on September 19, 2010 at the Poplar Nursing Home in Poplar surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Audrey was born in Poplar on September 18, 1920 to Robert and Gertrude Edeline. She attended school in Poplar. She met and married Austin Buckles in Poplar and had 5 children.
For 25 years she worked for Bud Nass at the Federated Store and Fort Peck Mercantile. She was also employed at Bill’s Bakery and Poplar Nursing Home during which time she also worked at the American Legion Supper club on the weekends.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Poplar.
She lived in Poplar all of her life. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting, playing cards and casino games. She always loved a good practical joke and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a caretaker of many people.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Austin; her son Austin “Scottie” Buckles; her son in-law Bob Kirn; and 2 grandsons Ronald Buckles and Mike Kirn. She was the last one of 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Suz Kainz (Ken) of Custer, SD, Blue Kirn (Gary) of Poplar, MT and Donna Buckles-Whitmer (Warren) of Poplar, MT; son, Rob Buckles (Kathy) of Bozeman, MT; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 21 at 2 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Poplar. Interment will follow in the Poplar City Cemetery.
