Bernard Vearl Standing, Indian name Wamni Wocabi (Circling Eagle), age 56, of Frazer, MT passed away March 3, 2009 at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point due to natural causes.

Bernard was born June 13, 1952 in Wolf Point to Gifford Vearl and Arlene (Blount) Standing. Bernard attended schools in Wolf Point and Frazer, later earning his GED.

Bernard worked for the Frazer School District, did home improvement, and worked for various farmers and ranchers in the area. He excelled in fencing.

Bernard enjoyed country western music and attending the Wild Horse Stampede Race where, in 1984, he was once a champion with Doug and Dale Grandchamp.

He was a lifelong resident of the Oswego-Frazer area.

Bernard is survived by his mother, Arlene Standing of Frazer; sister, Sheila Standing of Frazer; adopted sister, Ronna Lamere of Rocky Boy, MT; brothers, Lowell (Irene) Standing and Curtis (Brenda) Standing, both of Oswego; aunts, Gladys Jackson of Oswego, Marietta Four Bear and Pear Four Bear, both of Brockton, Lucille Raining Bird and Rita Talks Different, both of Frazer; uncle, Dean Blount of Frazer; nieces, Kristie Standing of Frazer, Danette Standing of Bozeman, MT, Denean Standing of Rickville, MD, Cyreena Standing of Oswego, and Sheronne Redstone of Las Vegas, NV; nephews, Errol Standing of Frazer, Gifford and Chans Standing both of Oswego, Brockie Standing of Wolf Point and Eugene Stump of Frazer; daughters, Molly Stevenson and three grandchildren of Oswego and Jeneen Firemoon Beston and children of Frazer.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gifford V. Standing; Grandparents, Bernard Standing, Jeanette Standing, George Blount, Sr. and Kathleen Red Eagle Blount; Uncles Joe Jackson, Dennis Blount and George Blount, Jr.; and special nephew, Telray Standing.

A Wake will begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Oswego Community Hall. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Oswego Community Hall. Interment will follow at the Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery.
