Bernice Sievers, age 94, of Wolf Point, MT passed away May 22, 2009 in Wolf Point. Bernice was born January 23, 1915 in Vida, MT at the family homestead. She was the youngest of eight children born to Theodore and Magdalena (Marquart) Tritschler, German immigrants. She attended Little Creek School and graduated from Baker High School. She then went on to graduate from Cosmetology School.
Bernice married Harry Sievers on June 8, 1946 in Circle, MT. Harry passed away in 1995. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She adored her family, never complained, always had a smile on her face and a good word to say.
Bernice was a devoted Catholic and a member of the St. Catherine’s Altar Society. She is a guardian angel to her family and prayed the rosary daily.
Mom enjoyed reading, playing cards with her family and friends, baking, gardening, puzzles, quilting and was an excellent seamstress.
Bernice was able to live independently until the time of her death because of her determination, family, daughter-in-law Cheryl, caretaker Brenda, and many friends.
Bernice is survived by her children, Catherine (Mike) Frellick of Missoula, MT, Tom (Cheryl) Sievers of Wolf Point, Michael Sievers of South Wolf Point, Alicia Sievers of Mtn. Home, ID, Harriet (Paul) Damjanovich of Laurel, MT and Paul (Dana) Sievers of Vida; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Missy, Micayla and Ethan of Scobey, MT, Jill (Jim) Val and Emily of Lewistown, MT, Heidi (Bob) Hunter, Sydnie and Hudson of Sidney, MT, Denis and Hailey of Idaho Falls, ID, Lisa (Joe) of Richland, WA, Paul, Tomas and Teresa all of Laurel, MT, Bridget (Andy) and Landon of Billings, MT and Jayme of Hysham, MT.
Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, Harry; parents; sisters, Teresa, Sister Thecla, Sister Theodora, Helen and Josephine; and brothers, Andrew and Claude.
Visitation will be 12:00 noon till 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Family Vigil Service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Riverside, MT. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Vida. Interment will follow at the Sievers Family Farm.
