Byron Bauer, 60, died on May 9, 2017 at his home Southeast of Wolf Point.
Byron along with his twin brother was born on January 5, 1957 in Poplar, the son of Joseph Bauer and Alona Feather Earring. He was raised and attended school in Brockton where he graduated in 1976.
Byron served in the Army from 1976 to 1981. He was stationed in California and Hawaii.
He attended Fort Peck Community College earning his AA degree in Building Trades.
He worked for A&S Tribal Industries, West Electronics, and was currently employed with the Wolf Point Schools.
His hobbies included fishing, whether he caught anything or not, spending time with his grandson Nathan Squires, whom he raised as his own, he also enjoyed attending the Wolf Point Stampede every year. He enjoyed watching basketball and playing horseshoes. He was a member of the Riverside Church.
He met the love of his life, Cindy Firemoon, in 2000. They married in 2004.
Byron was preceded in death by his mother and father, three brothers, Bryon, his twin, Thomas (T.J.), Ronnie and two sisters Cora Jean and Cora Lee. Aunts Eunice Half Red , Elsie King, Ernestine Lowry, Catherine Deschon , Rose Bauer and Uncles Reuben Feather Earring and John Bauer, cousin Eliza Lambert, nieces Tonya Lambert, Angela Summers.
He is survived by his wife Cindy, grandson Nathan, daughter Kristen of Billings, granddaughters Selena Bauer and Serenity Santillian, Mikel Thompson, step-children Marvin Youpee Jr., Cherish Lilley, Kira Squires and Tyrone Darnell. Sisters Brenda Bauer – Wolf Point, Monica Laroque, Irene Bighorn – Poplar, and brother Bruce Bauer – Wolf Point. Cousins Lynn (Les) Bighorn, Edwin (Patty) Falcon, Anita Lee, Kevin Falcon, Joni (Fred) Zaste, Ford (Dana) Falcon, Judy Falcon, Alex Falcon, Sybil (Robert) Summers, Ferol Feather Earring. Nieces Michelle (Jeff) Harada, Leah Strauser, Lisa (Terry Joe) Strauser, Mary Baker, Willette Lambert, Melissa (Elston) LaBelle, Teri Summers, Megan (Eddie) Black, Leslee Bighorn, Jasmine Bauer, Vikki Halverson, Hailey Bauer, Clarice (Steve) Smoker, Stanette Crowe, Patricia Philbrick.
