Charles Julian Martell “Charlie” was born October 11, 1949 to Julian “Chick” Martell and Ruth (Evanson) Martell in Mason City, IA. Charlie passed away on September 21, 2019 at 3:30 a.m. in Billings, MT due to health conditions. Charlie was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and great grandfather.
Charlie grew up in Mason City, IA and Wolf Point, MT. Charlie attend school in Wolf Point graduating in 1965. He worked as a dispatcher for several years in Wolf Point. Charlie met Lila Taylor and soon after they were married on December 31, 1994. He was blessed with twin boys, Jordon and Jason Martell, they were the apple of his eye and he loved them dearly.
Charles was a kind and generous man; helping anyone who needed it. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on cars. Charles loved playing the guitar and playing in a band with his brothers
Charles is survived by his twin sons, Jordan (Kenzie) Martell and Jason (Shelby Jo) Martell; sister, Marilyn Smith; grandchildren, Franklin and Jason Martell Jr., Azalea, Aubree, Savannah, and Rilynn Walker, Anika, Margeret, Donald (LJ), and Jay D Martell; lifelong friend, Florence “Flossie” McKay; special great grandchildren, Jazzmyn, Xayvian, Robinson, Corey, and Gabriella Martell, and Jeremiyah, Xaniyan, Josiyah, and Xachariyah Birdsbill, whom held a special place in his heart and whom he loved unconditionally; and nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Ruth (Evanson) Martell; brother, Robert “Bob” Martell and William “Billy” Smith; sisters, Valeta Smith, Nancy Martell, and Julie Martell Azure.
Charlie will be remembered for being the kindest, loveable, generous, and respectful man with a witty sense of humor! He will be missed dearly!
