Clarence Follows The Road, “Cánteya Wasté” (His Words Makes People Happy), age 82, of Fort Yates, ND, formerly of Fort Kipp, MT passed away October 25, 2015 in Fort Yates.
Clarence, the son of Thomas Edward and Lucy (Long Cloud) Follows The Road, was born December 3, 1932.
Clarence spent most of his life back and forth from Fort Kipp to Fort Yates.
Clarence attended the Presbyterian Church in Fort Kipp and the Presbyterian Church in Fort Yates.
Clarence enjoyed listening to Pow-Wow and Church music.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lucy Follows The Road; brother Peter Follows The Road; sisters, Betty and Ruby Follows The Road; sons, Allen Follows The Road, Thomas John Necklace, Milo Buckles and Christoffer Buck Elk; daughter, Arlene Follows The Road; grandson Emmanuel Buck Elk; great granddaughters Carry Moccasin twins and niece, Joyce Follows The Road.
He is survived by his son Elvis Eagle of Poplar, MT; brother, Oscar Follows the Road and Joseph Follows The Road both of Standing Rock, ND; sister Nellie Silk; nieces, Joy Reddig of Lustre, MT, Kari Bell of Boise, ID, Tari Common of Boise, ID, Pearl Buckles of Wolf Point, MT, Bernadine Follows The Road of Glendive, MT, and Dawn Follows The Road of Helena, MT; grandchildren, Sylvia Buck Elk, Darice Doorman, Darryle and Angel Buck Elk, Jenna Youngman, Joelle, Dannielle, and Sylvia Follows The Road of Rapid City, SD; great-grandchildren Morgan and Alex Necklace of Brockton, MT, Landon, Bailey and Swody Buck Elk of Fort Totten, ND, Phoenix Buck Elk of Bismarck, ND, Jalene, Joseph, Jalen and Ricardo Chase of New Town, ND, Peyton and Jaden Carry Moccasin of Fort Kipp, MT, Norma Ańpetu Waste Doorman of Mission, ND, Kendall and Kylie Necklace, William Jr., Grady and Milei Kingbird; nephews, Ike Brewster and Charles Silk; the Spotted Bulls; and many other relatives; and dear friends Weyland American Horse, Lloyd and Rocky Archambault, Neil Two Bears, Reggie Buckley, Seraphine Doggskin, Evans Elk all of Fort Yates, ND.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at the James Black Dog Activity Center in Fort Kipp. Interment will follow at the Fort Kipp Cemetery.
