Clarence “Ike” Walking Eagle, Jr., passed on in Billings, MT on March 4, 2017 from an extended illness.
He was born on August 7, 1950 in Fort Totten, ND to Clarence Walking Eagle, Sr. and Jessie Jones.
Ike attended Brockton Schools graduating in 1969. He continued his education at Dawson Community College in Glendive, MT where he completed his Associates Degree. Ike also attended Eastern Montana College in Billings, MT and Fort Peck Community College in Poplar, MT.
Ike and Ruth Moore were married for 22 years before they divorced. From this union, they had four children Golden (Samantha) Walking Eagle, Mastéwin (Joel) Fish, Hunter (Ayesha) Walking Eagle, and Defender (Kensey) Walking Eagle.
Ike’s pride and joy were his grandchildren Bree, Jade, Baby G., Joel, Jr., Marlene, Maésen, Courage and Jessie.
Ike, also known as “Smooth”, was a Brockton Warrior and Denver Bronco fan. He had a tender heart for cats, dogs and even had a pig “Eisenhower”.
Before Ike became ill, he enjoyed running. Sometimes he ran up to 7 miles a day. He even ran in a few 5Ks. He loved to travel in his younger days, visiting Washington and California. He loved to attend pow-wows.
Ike is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Michael (Bobo) and Robin Walking Eagle and sisters Sharon Pesata and Laverne (Penny) Walking Eagle.
Ike is survived by his brothers; Allie (Lori), Rusty (Karen) and Kermit; sisters Toni and Doris; cousin/sister Lois Longtree and Roberta Bird.
Ike has many relatives that are too numerous to mention. Extended families include; the Jones’ family, Lewis family, Fast Horse family, Walking Eagle family from Fort Totten, the Melbourne family, the Cheek family, the Clark family, the Shields’ family and the FourStar family.
