Clifford P. Jerome

November 21, 1954 — January 9, 2025

Poplar

Clifford Phillip Jerome, age 70, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 9, 2025 at the Poplar Community Hospital.

Clifford aka Clank or Chi Chi B, was born on November 21, 1954, to Leonard Jerome and Evangeline Sipto. He attended school at Poplar Schools but later obtained his GED. In May of 1986, he graduated from Lake Region Community College in Devils Lake, ND, receiving his diploma in Farm Tractor and Diesel Mechanics. He worked for a time as a split netter for Dakota Tribal Industries in Ft. Totten, ND and at a trucking company in Billings, MT. In his early years, he met and married Linda Melbourne and to this union came their son Thomas. He later met Patricia McKay and to this union came Tana and Evangeline. He then met Roberta Bell and to this relationship, Doris was born. After living in the Sheyenne and Devils Lake, ND areas for a great many years, he came to MT and stayed until his passing. He loved working on vehicles and if anyone needed anything done, he was quick to help. That is, until his health forced him to quit doing what he loved. He loved cruising around with his buddies having his occasional Bud Ice.

He is survived by his daughters, Tana McKay and family, Evangeline Jerome and family both of Brockton, MT; custom adopted daughter, Ronalee Carpentier; also a son, Orlando Brown of Spirit Lake, ND; his adopted sister Lorene Good Soldier-Michel; cousins Sally Alberts-Cavanaugh of Spirit Lake, Lester Fast Horse and Lorna Martin; nieces Wilma Longie, Jolene Chopper-Jones, Samantha Savior-Longee, Annalissa Good Soldier-Adams, Cody Good Soldier, Danielle Martinez, Hattie Good Soldier, Angel Little, Victoria Bauer, Elaine Fast Horse and Julia “Baby J” Carpentier; nephews Abraham Chopper, Jr., Joseph and Louis Dunn, Kalijah Good Soldier, Pierre Jr., Corey and Cliff Youpee, Lester Jr., Hoke, Cameron, Troy and Kym Fast Horse, Duane Medicine Cloud, Ronald Fast Horse, Lawrence, Chief and Troy Fast Horse, Thomas and Tyson Bauer, Brian Boyd, and Jordan Old Rock; extended families include Alberts, Spotted Birds, Bears, Drums, Longies, Fast Horses, Necklaces and Shields’.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and son Thomas; his adopted mom Coretta Good Soldier-Yankton; adopted brothers Joseph Jr., Clifford, Charles and Melvin Good Soldier, Sam Savior, Marvin Medicine Horse and Douglas Michel; adopted sister Charlotte Good Soldier; auntie Victoria Martin; niece Wendy Chopper; cousin Ruth Necklace; and special friend Roger Bigleggins,  along with relatives from both FT. Peck and Spirit Lake that are too numerous to mention.

Clank was one of the nicest people you have met. He’ll be missed by the people befriended, especially his family. Until we meet again, rest in peace, Chi Chi B, we’ll love and miss you forever and always.
