Clifford M. Berglee, 84, of Wolf Point, MT formerly of Brockton, MT, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
Clifford was born October 24, 1926, 17 miles north of Brockton. He was the son of Martin and Anetha Berglee, who originally came from Norway. Clifford went to Nelson and Anderson Grade Schools, graduated from Poplar High School in 1944, then farmed with his dad and later took over the family farm.
Clifford married Rachel M. Nelson on October 14, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church, north of Brockton. They had five children and were married 46 years before Rachel passed away on July 19, 1997.
Clifford married Barbara Brekkstad at the Assemblies of God Church in Boulder, MT on August 21, 1999. They lived in Wolf Point until Clifford’s death.
Clifford enjoyed giving out Bibles and Christian literature. He was a life member of the Gideons. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing gospel and old style, cowboy music. He sang on the Fay Crush show. He played for churches, talent shows, old folk homes, and family occasions. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and table games, especially beating his grandchildren in Chinese and American checkers. His favorite food was more pie and ice cream.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Barbara of Wolf Point; daughter, Beatrice Anet and her husband, Gene Lorence of Bloomington, MN and their children, Rachael, Graham, and Blake; son, Clifton, and his wife, Karla of Billings and their children Landon, Seth, Zachery, and Ariel; son, Milton and wife, Cindee of Wolf Point and their children, Sharon, Jordan, Caleb, Trenton, and Angela; son, Royal and wife, Mary of Morehead, KY; great grandson, Daniel; sister, Margaret (Palmer) Kyllo from Tacoma, WA.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Naomi and his parents.
Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, January 28 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 29, at the Bethel Community Church in Culbertson, MT with Pastor Rick Ramsbacher officiating. Interment will follow at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, 15 miles north of Brockton.
