Colette Zell Zimmerman, age 53, of Wolf Point, MT teacher to all and friend of many, passed away on March 13, 2013 from complications of cancer.
Colette was born to Betty and Rawlin Zell on March 20 th , 1959 in Shelby, Montana. She was raised in Shelby and graduated from Shelby High school in 1977. Colette went to college at Montana State University in Bozeman and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1981.
In her childhood she enjoyed time with her cousins playing in the Sweet Grass hills. She loved baking little pies and cakes in her Easy Bake Oven. She was always the organizer, planning birthday parties for her friends and cousins.
Like her dad, Colette was always excited about something new she was working on or a new idea that she had.
Colette married Duane Zimmerman in Las Vegas, NV on June 7 th , 1988. To this union three children were born Ryan, Brent and Curt Zimmerman.
She was always in the stands for her son’s baseball games, if not there, she loved being at their cabin on Nelson Reservoir. It was a special thrill for her to take her grandson to the carnival.
Colette was preceded in death by her parents and brother Larry.
She is survived by her husband Duane of Wolf Point; sons, Ryan(Kristina) of Williston, Brent and Curt both of Wolf Point; grandson, Peyton of Williston; brother Hank(Wanda) Zell of Shelby, MT; sisters Lucille(Larry) Smith of Shelby and Helen(Steve) Leck of Galata, MT ; very special niece, Danna of Bozeman, MT; and many other nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 2:00pm at the First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Wolf Point 100 Club or the Trinity Hospital cancer suite in Wolf Point.
Now she is makin’ waves and catchin’ rays on the deck of a grand pontoon of her dreams.
