Dale M. Headdress was called home by the Lord on October 11, 2020. He was born on July 29, 1948 to Dale M. Headdress Sr. and Norma Headdress. He attended school in Wolf Point and Poplar; graduating from Poplar High School. He worked at various jobs and attended college before he became the BIA Police Captain. After he retired, he went back to college and earned two Associate Degrees in General Studies and Business. He was currently working for Spotted Bull Treatment Center, MAPS program.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kayleen (Todd) Headdress; his children, Lane (Hannah) Headdress, Norma (Emerson) Young, Debra Headdress, Amy Headdress Deherra (James), Gale Headdress, Denise (Shawn) Morgan, Anne (Dean) Buffalo, Winona Ross, Luane (Tony) Brown, Tony Headdress, who he raised as his own and various grandchildren; his siblings, Charles Headdress Sr., Arlyn Headdress, Henry (Patty) Headdress, Leroy Headdress, Sheldon Headdress, Lonnie (Juanita) Headdress, Larry (Pearl) Headdress; 3 sisters, Shannon (Bernie) Gonzalez, Ione (Jay) Hanson, Doris Headdress Thompson; his adopted Yarlotte family from Crow, Marlon (Camel) Yarlotte, Elmer Yarlotte Jr., Tom Yarlotte, and Marlen “Deano” (Marie) Yarlotte.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Dale M. Headdress Sr. and Norma Gregg Headdress; his son, Dale Randy Headdress, and Kyle whom he raised as his own; his sister, Michelle Headdress Buck Elk; brother, Mitchell Headdress; and adopted father, Elmer Yarlott Sr.
A viewing will be held from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, October 19 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A graveside will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 20 at the Headdress Family Cemetery west of Wolf Point. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
