Funeral services for Darla Payne, 58 of Wolf Point, MT are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel with Tyrus Follet and Danny Lindsey officiating. Wake services are at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery, Oswego, MT under the direction of Clayton Stevenson Funeral Home of Wolf Point, MT.

Darla Claudine Jackson Payne left this world to be with her loved ones in Heaven.  Darla passed on the Saturday morning of January 11, 2014, at the Billings Clinic, Billings, MT with her loving daughter Jeanette at her bedside.

Darla was born on December 23, 1958, In Wolf Point, MT to Joseph A Jackson and Gladys (Standing) Jackson. She was the youngest of six daughters.

Darla attended Wolf Point Elementary School, Havre Middle School and Frazer High School. She married Thomas Payne of Oswego and from this union 3 children were born: Olyn, T.J., and Jeannette.

Her children were her greatest joy. She was a loving and forgiving Mother. Darla would try to give her children the “Moon” if they asked for it. She enjoyed going to their sporting events especially summer baseball. Darla was a friend to everyone and would help them out when she could. Her friends were from all walks of life and she never looked down on anyone or said harsh things about someone down on their luck.

When her children were old enough for school she went to work for numerous years as a medical clerk at I.H.S. in Wolf Point. She enjoyed her work but left I.H.S. to spend more time with her grandchildren. Darla was blessed with 8 grandchildren.

Darla tried a few jobs after her children grew up but basically she was content staying home with her family. She knew her husband Tom was a hard worker and would always provide for them.

Darla is survived by: her husband, Tom; her children, Olyn, T.J., and Jeannette; four sisters, Davey Jean (John) Stewart, Cleo (Larry) Hamilton, Jo Ellen (Dale) Grandchamp, and Lynn Campbell; her ten grandchildren, Serena, Haley, Hannah, Hudson, Arawyn, Tommy, Kaelyn, Madison, Alayna, and Jaxon; numerous sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and other extend family members to numerous to mention.

Darla was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Gladys Jackson; maternal grandparents, Bernard and Jeannette Standing; paternal grandparents, Stonewall and Susan Jackson; one sister, Patricia Stump; and one granddaughter, Jolee Payne.
