David Lewis Frederick, age 60, of Poplar, MT, passed away on September 26, 2012 at Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
Dave was born June 27, 1952 to Lewis & Hattie (Hinman) Frederick in Poplar, MT. He attended Poplar Schools in Poplar, MT.
On September 13, 1973 he married his best friend, Helen (Beth) Person. To this union a daughter, Teresa Marie, and a son, Jason Lewis, were born.
Dave served in the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Club. He was active in the Poplar AAU Wrestling Club, team roping at local rodeos, he was the President of the Saddle Club, and devoted over 20 years to the Poplar Volunteer Fire Department where he became the Fire Chief before retiring. His hobbies include camping, reading, cooking, grilling, hunting, fishing, boating, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Dave operated his own business known as “Dave’s Construction”. Those who knew him would say he could fix anything.
Dave always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help a friend. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and would do anything for them. He always told them he loved them. He will be greatly missed.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, brothers John & Leroy, Joe, Samuel, Mark, & Abraham Frederick; and grandson, BJ Granbois.
Dave is survived by his wife of 39 years, Beth; a daughter, Teresa Frederick of Livingston, a son, Jason (Nathelle)Frederick of Poplar; four grandchildren, Keionna (James) Jennings, Mia and Jase Frederick, and JJ Iceman; one great-granddaughter, Helen Jennings; one brother, Pete Frederick; five sisters; Ruth and Mary Frederick, Sarah (Dennis) Thompson, Esther Stuehm, and Martha Bridges; sister-in-law Meg Person, Joni Peacher, Lori Frederick, and Tanya Bear; brother-in-law, John Person, Dennis Thompson; nieces, Kenda Stuehm, Gina Thompson, Judy Collings, Stacy Standing, Shelly Frederick, Cheri, Rochelle, Megan Frederick, Breanna, and Marlana Frederick; JoJo Frederick; nephews, Shawn “Bum” Frederick, Jonathan Thompson, Abraham Frederick, Sam Frederick, Sid Bridges, and Joey Frederick.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 2 at the Assembly of God in Poplar.
Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
