Our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and brother, David E. “Nick” Menz, age 66, of Poplar, Montana went to be with the Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Poplar Community Hospital in Poplar, MT, due to heart failure.

David “Nick” Menz was born on December 14, 1941 to Catherine Dupree Menz and Levi Menz.

Nick found his soul mate, Carol Ann Merculieff and they were married on December, 16, 1983, in Poplar, MT. They were together until her death in January of 2007.

Nick spent all his life in the Poplar area. He attended schools in Poplar. He worked as a ranch hand for many ranchers then in later years for the Fort Peck Tribes Commodity Food Program.

Nick loved to go hunting and fishing and being outdoors cruising the backroads finding new spots to fish. He loved spending time with his family, his grandkids and his friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand.

David “Nick” Menz is preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Levi Menz, his Beloved wife, Carol Ann (Merculieff) Menz and his brothers, Freddy Menz, Donald Menz, Johnny Menz and Francis Menz.

David is survived by one son, David Douglas Menz and family of Wolf Point, MT; three step-daughters, Barbara Merculieff and family, Shannon (Dave) Merculieff and family, Jewel Merculieff and family, a niece, Johnell (Todd) Menz and family; nephews, Harol Dupree and family , Ramond Dupree and family, Donavon Menz, Sr. and family, Allen Menz and family and Lester Menz and family all of Poplar, MT ; one adopted son, Patrick McClammy of Wolf Point, MT and numerous cousins of the Dupree and Eagle families of Poplar and numerous grandkids.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Poplar Cultural Center starting at 4:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. His funeral service will be Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Poplar Cultural Center with Rev. Dr. James Isaac officiating. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery.C0ndolences may be sent to the family at www.stevensonandsons.com. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
