Jesus called one of his angels, whom was my son, Dennis D. Scott II, back to his paradise on January 22, 2017, when he heard his name called, no hesitation, he went to obey the Lord.
Dennis D. Scott II was born to Melvin “Dennis” Scott and Carlene White Bull on May 28, 1996. Jr., as his dad called him and DJ his name on his mother’s side.
In his infant, toddler days you would see him bundle up in winter. Trunks, pampers, T-shirt and shoes in summertime being pulled around town in his sled or wagon by his dad while he was riding his bike. Jr would be hugging his dad as he sat in his bike seat. Jr. and dad were seen all over on the country roads, with him being pulled around enjoying, laughing and plain happy with no worry in the world.
Jr. started his schooling in Poplar, he went to school in Great Falls, MT, Pierre, SD, Chamberlain, SD, Lower Brule, SD and graduating from Central High School in Grand Forks, ND. During his four years in high school he joined the JROTC Program and graduated from the program when he graduated from high school in the year 2015. Jr. was going to enlist into the military when he turned 21, which would have been in 4 months. Jr. told his dad “Dad when I enlist, I am coming back after you to take care of you, because you took care of me all my life.”
Jr. enjoyed playing X-box. Every time a new X-box was put on the market he was sure to get one, plus the X-box games. Jr. was into jogging but that phase past, so instead of jogging he started cruising with his friends and listening to his kind of music. I think it was hard rock as it was loud and made noise that I couldn’t understand. I didn’t care as long as he was happy.
Jr. also enjoyed watching the “Fighting Sioux” football and hockey teams competing in their NCAA Division. Jr. also enjoyed riding his skateboard all over Grand Forks and if he wasn’t riding his skateboard then it was bike riding. He enjoyed going to concerts attending Avenged Sevenfold, Black Veil Brides, and Britney Spears. He also enjoyed watching monster truck competitions; his favorite monster truck was Cyclopes. Jr. was a “loner” but he made a lot of friends no matter where he went.
Jr. is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Melvin Dale Scott aka “Toby” and Artie Josephine Crazy Bull; his maternal grandparents Jacob White Bull Sr. and Lois Ann Ricker; sister Amanda Belt; paternal great grandparents Ray Scott, Sr., Ruth Otter Yellow Hawk Scott, James Crazy Bull and Lillian Shields; paternal great great-grandparents Kills Them in House, Yellow Hawk, First Elk Yellow Hawk, Crazy Bull, Neoma Crazy Bull, Andrew Shields and Florence Lambert; great great-great-great-grandparents Iron Tusk , Bad Temper and Julia Red Boy; aunts, Mavis J. Scott Hernandez, Elizabeth D. Youpee AKA Lazy, Urina L. Scott, and Jeri Ferguson.
Jr. is survived by his dad, Melvin “Dennis” Scott; mother, Carlene White Bull; brothers Conrad (Amanda) Scott, Ambrose Belt III, Melvin (Dana) Scott III, Francis Scott, Skye White Bull; sisters Kayleen (Kurt) Martell, Angel Scott, Larina (Brian) Scott, Merrilee (Calvin) Belt and Faustine Scott; uncles, Matthew (Mary) Scott Sr., Jacob (Beth) WhiteBull Jr., Reggie Scott, Robert “Suess” Eder, Kenneth Eder, Juan Leeder, Frank Nation, William Baker, Gregory (Georgia) Yellow Hawk, Terry Yellow Hawk, and Gordon Yellow Hawk, Sheldon Birthmark, Mervyn Shields, Arlie Shields, and Julian Shields Jr.; aunts, Nuluette Loudermilk, Ava (Wayne) Loveland, Sandra (Vincent) Cudito, Connie Ferguson, Rose Ferguson, Jordis Ferguson, and Doreen Ferguson, Julia Young, Ophie CrazyBull and Ana Marie CrazyBull; grandma, Diane Chase, Sandra Birthmark, Debbie Shields, Patricia Pipe (whom was Jr.’s special grandma as she took him under her wing during his schooling, did events, went to places nothing fancy, but he was happy. “Grandma Pipe, I am sorry and I love you, thank you for always being there for me”).
Lastly Jr enjoyed going to Minnesota lakes at his best friend, Logan Claw (who also passed on), auntie’s cabin. Jr was an excellent bow hunter; he could make the arrows sing. Jr. was a pretty good fly fisherman also.
