Desmond James Clark, age 17, of Wolf Point, MT went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2009. He’s now probably trying to get a basketball team together up in Heaven.
Desmond was born on July 26, 1991 in Sidney, MT to Ruth Iron Shield and John Clark. He grew up in Wolf Point. He was currently a Junior at Wolf Point High School.
Desmond played football, basketball and participated in track for the Wolves. In the summer he coached Little League baseball. His whole life was his family and sports, even when he had free time he would be playing ball with his nephews, Nathanial, Kobe and brother, Rayce. He enjoyed watching sports on TV — his favorite teams were Duke and North Carolina. He loved playing NBA ZK9 on his play station, loved playing golf on his wii and going to open gym. He loved working out to keep in shape.
Desmond’s favorite TV show was “Rob ‘n Big.” His favorite singer, Gary Allen. His favorite album, Rascal Flatts “Me and My Gang.” Favorite animals, dogs and monkeys. Favorite drink, milk. Favorite color, Blue. Favorite holiday, Easter. His favorite book was “Traveling Team.” His hero was his Uncle Melvin Clark.
Desmond loved his family so much. He was always teasing everyone, getting on everyone’s nerves, trying to wrestle Courtney, Dorrance, Kayla and, of course, mom. He loved his Grandma Ruby so much. If mom said “no” he would go right to his Grandma. She could never say no to her baby. Grandma and mom both blamed each other for Des being so spoiled.
Desmond was a good boy, always smiling and caring. He loved to tease and visit people and he was very helpful. He was loved by many people. He had a lot of fans. His biggest fans were his mom, dad, Courtney, Dorrance, Kayla, Nathaniel, Rayce, Kobe, Maria and Ashlee, Uncles Melvin, Terrance, Lawrence, Dewayne, Grandma Barbara, Grandma Stubby Deana Dewitt and Grandma Ruby who always followed him to all his games and tournaments, no matter what the weather.
Desmond was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Mary Clark, grandmother, Marie Azure, and uncles, Fred and Myron Iron Shield.
Desmond is survived by his mother Ruth, father John, grandmother Ruby Clark all of Wolf Point; grandfathers Charles Clark of SD and Greg IronShield of ND; his sisters Courtney, Kayla, Cassandra and Jensen all of Wolf Point; brothers, Dorrance, Rayce and Justin, all of Wolf Point; special cousins Meagan, Mary and Elli, his niece, who he couldn’t wait to see walk, all of Wolf Point; special nephews Nathaniel, Allen and Kobe all of Wolf Point; uncles Melvin, Elmer, Gary, Big Dorrance all of Wolf Point, Troy, Ronnie, Alex and Beau all of ND, Terrance, Lawrence, Jason, Dewayne and Mark all of Wolf Point and Darrell of ND; and his favorite cousin Christian IronShield of ND. He is also survived by his love, Ashlee of Wolf Point, who loved him so much.
When Des was small he said if he had one wish it would be for everyone to have a dog.
To all of Desmond’s friends…remember him, be strong, stay drug and alcohol free, take care of each other, remember Des in your prayers. Remember his smile, his teasing ways, and that he was a good kid.
To the basketball team…play hard next year for him because he’ll be looking down, watching you and cheering you on.
From his family, we love you so much, Des. We’ll miss you. We’ll think of you every day. You will not be forgotten, our baby boy.
