Dewayne Youngman

September 20, 1946 — March 16, 2009

Dewayne Youngman, Kimimana (White Butterfly) Ska, age 62, of Poplar, MT went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with diabetes on March 16, 2009 at Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.

Dewayne was born September 20, 1946 to Douglas & Eva (Iron Ring) Youngman, Sr. of Poplar and the grandson of the late Chief Santee Iron Ring. He grew up and attended Poplar grade school and graduated from Flandreau Indian School in SD in 1966. He served in the Army from 1966 – 1968.

Dewayne married Donna Lee Crowe April 30, 1976. To this union they had three children, Eva Crowe Youngman, Levi Crowe Youngman and LaDonna Youngman. He had ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Dewayne worked at the Poplar Gun Factory for three years and then worked at Glasgow Air Force Base. He worked at A & S Tribal Industries for twenty-six years and his last job was working for the Fort Peck Tribes as a mail clerk.

Dewayne enjoyed working and watching his grandson, Teddy, play basketball. He liked traveling to pow-wows and going to Four Bears Casino.

Dewayne is survived by his wife, Donna L. Youngman; two children, Levi Crowe Youngman and LaDonna L. Youngman, both of Poplar; ten grandchildren, Danna, Sarah, Theodore, Deanna, Francis, Ashley, Jordon, Lil Dewayne, Frannie and Jacob Youngman all of Poplar; six great grandchildren; five sisters, Eloise, Delores, Isabelle, Wilma, and Donna Youngman, all of Poplar; two brothers, Cyril (Betty) Iron Ring of Brockton, and Douglas (Juanita) Youngman, Jr. of Poplar; his aunties, Rita Long Chase and Florence Eagleman, both of Poplar; and uncle, Mike Youngman, of Poplar.

Dewayne is preceded in death by his daughter, Eva Crowe Youngman; his parents, Douglas & Eva (Iron Ring) Youngman, Sr.; two brothers, Thomas Youngman, Sr. and Darrell Youngman; and one sister, Vicki M. Youngman.

Wake Service will begin 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Poplar Cultural Center. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Poplar City Cemetery.
