Dorothy “Dot” Balbinot

October 11, 1941 — April 15, 2016

Dorothy “Dot” Balbinot passed away on April 15, 2016 at Northeast Montana Health Services after a period of health problems.   Her physical problems prevented her from doing what she enjoyed best and spent many years doing, working out on her physical fitness and helping others to be the best they could be.

Dorothy was born on October 11, 1941 to Lillian DeLong Weeks and Courtney Reddoor. She grew up in Wolf Point, living her early years with Grandparents Albert and Josephine DeLong and her beloved uncle Dan Delong.  Dorothy went to Wolf Point Schools and Marty Indian School. She married at a young age to Carl Fourstar, Sr, who was in the military, and lived in Germany and various places in the U.S., including Hawaii.  During this time she was blessed with daughters Carla, Stephanie, and Adrienne and sons Carl, Jr. and Steven.

She returned to Wolf Point in 1976 and met the love of her life and best friend, Robert Balbinot. They married on June 19, 1979 and would have celebrated their 40 th year together this year.   During her lifetime she worked jobs in customer service as hostess, bartender, waitress, business manager, and clothing model. She taught the people she worked with to provide excellent services to the customer and the value of hard work, as anyone who ever worked with her will attest.

Prior to moving to Williston during the first oil boom in the early 1980s, she went to cosmetology school and got her Montana and North Dakota license. Robert worked in the oil field then went to Butte School of Mines and received a degree in Petroleum Engineering.  With Robert working in various locations, they moved to Wolf Point to set up a permanent residence. Dorothy managed the Silverwolf Casino and Tribal Express until retiring with back problems that prevented her from doing the activities she so loved.

Dorothy had a heart for anyone who needed help or assistance for anything. She never turned anyone away and her heart gravitated towards helping children, she would buy them clothes with her own money.  She had a natural talent for making everyone feel special.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Robert, children, Stephanie (Charles) Knowlton, Carl, Jr., Steven (Nicole) Fourtsar, Adrienne (Darin)Weinberger, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She is also survived by sisters Josephine Neutgens, Jackie Weeks, and Rita Weeks, and brothers Dennis (Bobbi) Lambert, Gary Farnsworth, John Weeks, David (Barbi) Weeks, Tom (Becky) Weeks,  and Wayne (Debbie) Weeks. She is preceded in death by her precious daughter Carla Fourstar, brothers Willie Weeks and Robert Weeks.

“I love you forever, I love you for always, as long as I’m living my mama you’ll be”
