Dorothy Reinlasoder

November 24, 1928 — February 1, 2013

Our mother Dorothy Dolores (Ferguson) Reinlasoder passed away at the Faith Home in Wolf Point, Mont., on Feb. 1, 2013. She was born on Nov. 24, 1928, to Frank and Jessie (Owens) Ferguson in Wood River, Ill. She was the eldest of seven siblings. In 1944, the family moved to Wolf Point, Mont., and she graduated from Wolf Point High School.  Wolf Point is where she met our father Gerald, a Poplar boy who at the time was in the Army stationed at Ft Benning, Ga., He proposed marriage to her and she boarded a train from Wolf Point to Columbus, Ga., where they were married on April 20, 1949. The Korean War erupted and in August 1950 Gerald shipped off to war and Mom, who was pregnant with their first child, boarded the train back to Wolf Point. Dad returned home from Korea and our parents were never again separated and were able to celebrate their 63 rd anniversary together at Faith Home on April 20, 2012. Dad passed away on May 30. Our mother was a loving and caring person, and her last wish was that her children knew how much she loved them. She had worked as a cook for many years to help support her family and she retired as the Head Dietician for the PoplarCommunityHospital. Mother was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Poplar. She battled a number of serious illnesses in her later years and was a breast cancer survivor. She leaves behind six children, Larry (Tori) of Billings, John and Karl (Jeanne) Poplar, Susan (Bernard) of Lanigan, Sask., Karen (Glen) of Salem, Ore., and Kelly (Renee) of Cheney, Wash., sisters, Doris (Alton) of Richey, and Mary of Columbia Falls; and a brother Gordon Ray of Wolf Point. She will also be greatly missed by 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Gerald, a grandson Carlos, brothers Robert and Victor Ferguson and a sister Louise Wienke. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held later.
