Drusella P. Crowe, age 60, of Poplar, MT went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2011, at the Poplar Community Hospital. She was born on December 20, 1950 in Poplar to Sherman Crowe and Alice Marie Longtree.
Drusella attended schools in Poplar and Flandreau, South Dakota, where she graduated. She volunteered at the Head Start in Poplar, and was later hired as a cook. Drusella loved to help everyone. Every time there was a wake, she would be right in the kitchen helping out.
Drusella is survived by her nine children Virgene (Sam) Crowe of Poplar, Verdella Leah Harold of Devils Lake, Stanley Longtree, Caroline Longtree, and Theo Longtree of Brockton, Matthew Longtree of San Francisco, Christopher Crowe of Malta, and Jennifer Crowe of Hinsdale; adopted sisters Donna Lee Youngman, Lanella Ricker, and Julia Young all of Poplar; many aunts, Evadna Running Bear, LaVern LovesHim, Margaret Hapa, and Arlene Ricker, Pauline Longtree Granbois all of Poplar, and Lois Longtree of Brockton; uncles Eddy and Maynard Jones, and Clarence Longtree Jr.; many special grandchildren Richelle Melbourne, Jorga Christiansen, Clay Longee, and Lillie Bear all of Poplar.
Drusella is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Leah Crowe, uncle Nelson Crowe, and her grandmother Sarah Crowe, who raised her.
A Vigil Service for Drusella will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar, Montana. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00am also at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Ray Nyquist as Celebrant. Internment will follow at Poplar City Cemetery.
