Dwight Swanson, age 52 of Wolf Point, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 12, 2008. Dwight was born January 5, 1956 to Jerry and Joan Swanson in Seattle, WA.
Dwight grew up in the Opheim and Fairview area of MT, later lived in Colorado, Alaska, and Hawaii until returning to WA. It was there that he found and married his soul mate Donna. Dwight always said he had three loves in his life, first one being Jesus, second one being his wife Donna and thirdly his music. He wrote music and copyrighted over 96 songs. He had a passion for the Lord and was not afraid to speak it. He was always willing to talk to anyone in need.
In 1994 Dwight and Donna moved to Wolf Point where they started working for the Fort Kipp Red Eagle Church and the youth. He was also co founder of FPRC public television. In 1995 Dwight started to pastor the United Dakota Presbyterian Church and working with the youth of the community. In 2001 Dwight started to pastor at the First Presbyterian Church and was pastor at both churches up until his death.
Dwight, as many may have known, was a bit of a perfectionist and for anyone who has any of the crafts he made knows this. Dwight had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time reading God’s word and many Christian books. He had many special people in his life of whom he cherished in his heart. His love and compassion for the youth was an enthusiasm in his life and he always said we were here because of the kids. He loved each and every one of them.
Dwight is preceded in death by his sister; Dee, grandparents and great grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; his son Michael of WA., parents, Jerry (Barb) Swanson of Glasgow, MT, Joan Swanson of WA; brothers; Doug (Carrie), of CA., Danny of WA.; sister Dawn of WA.; one special adopted sister Linda Connor of Wolf Point.
