Earl “Chubbs” Jones Jr., II, age 47, of Poplar, MT passed away from heart failure on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in Poplar.

He was born on February 11, 1966 to Vivian and Earl Jones in Poplar. Chubbs graduated from Poplar High School in May 1984. He attended college in Haskell, KS and at the Northern Montana State University in Havre, MT. He worked various jobs during his life time, at A&S Industries, as a teacher’s aide at Poplar Middle School and Poplar Head Start, cook’s aide at Poplar Head Start, a C.N.A. at Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point, and Billings, MT and in Home health care in Spokane, WA.

Chubbs spent his time visiting family and friends, joking around and laughing, and listening to music. His favorite TV shows were the Golden Girls, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and anything on the Cooking Channel. He was always trying new recipes, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking for family dinners.

Chubbs didn’t have children of his own but he had a special place in his heart for his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He enjoyed babysitting them; he was available anytime he was needed.

Chubbs is survived by his mother, Vivian Douglas Jones of Poplar; sisters, DeAnna (Sam) Red Star, Marta (Tony) Wise Spirit, and Earlene (Michael J.) Ackerman all of Poplar; brothers, Bill (Nancy) Jones and Mervin Hale, Jr. both of Poplar; nephews, Mathew (Adrianna) Black Thunder, Myles (Cassie) Jones, Brent Jones, Sr., Duran Taylor, Earl and William Jones; nieces, Heather and Christine Jones, Raina and Samilyn Red Star, Antoinette Wise Spirit and Christina “Star” Stops; grandsons, Darrell, Nicholas, Brent, Jr., Gabriel Jones and Joseph Youpee; granddaughters, Mia Leigh, Azalea Jones, and Latia O’Guin; uncles, Leory (Cindy) Douglas, Arnold (Sandy) Douglas, Jeffrey and John Douglas, Edgar Jones, Raymond, Harold, and Calvin Dupree; aunts, Midge Clancy, Louella (Mike) Contrarez, Laverne Two Hearts, Donna Follet, Juanita Youngman, Naomi Young, Irene Jacques and Vivan Yucicappi from Canada, Joan White Eagle, and Melissa Cantrell, Catherine Spotted Bird, and Lorraine Stormy; grandfather, Joe Jones of Frazer, MT; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews and loved them all.

Along with his siblings, Chubbs was raised with Terry and Joseph Two Hearts, Ralph and Alva Menz, Manny and Sylvia Smith, and LaDonna Sanchez.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Earl Jones, Jr.; brothers, Darrell, Guy, and Tony  Jones; grandparents, Christine Davis Owens and Joseph Douglas and Beatrice Rosebud Dupree and Earl Jones, Sr.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His favorite saying was “I love you forever”.

A wake will be held 7:00 p.m.  Tuesday May 7 at the Cultural Center in Poplar. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m.  Wednesday May 8 at the Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment will follow at the Poplar City Cemetery in Poplar.
