Edna Lenore (Anderson) Pilgrim, age 107, of Wolf Point, MT died of natural causes Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point, MT.
Edna is survived by her children Joseph (Carolyn) Pilgrim of Northern McCone County, MT, Lois Rensvold, of Wolf Point, MT, Julia Ruhl of Bozeman, MT, Gail Clingingsmith of Glendive, MT, Carol (Red) Nelson of Shelby, MT; sons-in-law Richard Brenden of Oregon, Mark Pederson of Green Valley, AZ, and Lloyd Lemieux of Ennis, MT, 33 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Edna was born January 9, 1901 to the late Lewis J. and Anna Helen (Moen) Anderson in Caledonia, North Dakota. She graduated from High School in 1919 and went on to teacher’s training from Minot State Teachers college in 1921. She taught school in Alexander, ND and Horgan School in McCone County, MT. She met and married Joseph Pilgrim of Poplar, MT in 1925. After her marriage she became a full-time farm wife and mother. They raised nine children on their farm south of Poplar, MT.
Edna spent the remainder of her life in Wolf Point where she was active in her church and involved with the Wolf Point Women’s Club and Senior Citizen Center of Wolf Point. She enjoyed her children, grand-children, great-grand-children, great-great-grand-children, and in later years she took several tours around the country.
Edna is joined now with her husband, Joseph; her parents; son Gary Pilgrim; three daughters Marilyn Lemieux, Denyse Brendan, Jean Pederson; two grand-sons, Bret Pederson and Larry Clingingsmith; and sons-in-law Robert Ruhl, Eugene Clingingsmith and Stanley Rensvold.
A Funeral service will be held for Edna at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wolf Point, MT. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wolf Point, MT. The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church of Wolf Point, Faith Home in Wolf Point, or Gift of Life in Great Falls.
