Edwin Raymond (Luke) Bushman was born on 2-8-1938 to Ernest Bushman and Lucille (Day) Bushman. He was born 2 miles S.W. of Lohmiller Crossing. Half-way between Oswego & Wolf Point south of the Indian Hwy on the Albert & Minnie Day Ranch. He died at his home of a stroke on June 24th, 2011.
He went to the Wolf Point Northside Grade School and Southside Grade School and also to the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in the 5th Grade. He graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1957 and attended college in Great Falls. While in school and in later years he participated in all sports. Rodeo, baseball, softball, horseshoes, breaking horses, pool playing, basketball, & track. He was runner-up Saddle Bronc High School Champion in 1957 and also won numerous buckles in Saddle Bronc, calf roping and wild horse racing. Wild Horse Race Partners were the late Bud Pipe & Rusty Stafne.
He has some very special nieces & special nephews. They are too numerous to list. They know who they are.
Luke was an exceptional card player. He loved to play cards, all kinds especially cribbage with his special niece “Pie” of Wolf Point.
He is survived by his children: Bryan C. Bushman of Wolf Point, Michael E. Bushman of Williston, North Dakota, Steve Bushman of Wolf Point, Jacqueline Dietsch, Stanton, North Dakota, Julie Bushman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Dyan Grey Water of Wolf Point, Dorothy Brien of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, Robin Arreguin of Norfolk, Nebraska & Darek A. Le May of Gallop, New Mexico.
He is also survived by his sisters: Joyce (Fred) McGeshick, Gertrude “Tootie” (Cal) Clark, Mary Fullerton & Roberta Archdale. He is survived by brother Pat Bushman All of Wolf Point,Montana.
He was also a beloved Grandpa and Great-Grandpa to Many!
Also survived by Adopted Brothers and Sisters: Sonny Bill Whitehead & Sissy Anderson of Wolf Point, Don Blankenship of Glendive, Sarge Old Horn of Crow Agency, Eugene Limpy, of Lame Deer, Mike Youngman of Poplar, Russell Kirn, of Poplar, Eddie Falcon and Carolyn of Trenton, North Dakota, Ernie Falcon of Trenton, North Dakota, Lyle Denny, of Wolf Point, Rusty Denny of Poplar and Adopted son Rob Blount of Frazer.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents on both sides, his mother and father, brothers Dean and Robert, sisters Florence & Darlene and adoped brothers Elliot Todd.
His Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 27 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at Oswego Catholic Cemetery.
