EDWIN J. SCHUMACHER

Edwin J. Schumacher, 83, of Circle, died on Friday, March 21, 2008 at the McCone County Nursing Home from an apparent heart attack. He had resided there for the past two and a half years.

Edwin was born Aug. 25, 1924, to Joseph and Gertrude Schumacher on the family homestead in the Horse Creek Community. In 1937 the Schumacher family moved to a farm just south of Circle where he farmed with his brother until the late 1990’s, Edwin then moved into town.

Edwin was a WWII Veteran, a Corporal in the US Army. He was in combat in the Philippine Islands and served in the Occupation Forces of Japan at the end of the war
with Company “H”, 27th Infantry near Nagoya, Japan.

He is survived by his three nieces, Patti Zeiler, Red Lodge, Kathie Haacke and Linda Dahnke of Billings, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leander and his sister Alvina
Bawden.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26th at St Francis Xavier
Church in Circle. Interment will be at the Riverview Cemetery. If so, desired memorials
may be made to the McCone County Nursing Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevensonandsons.com. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
