On December 8, 2019 at 11:15 p.m. our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend left us. Edwina Gail Stump was born on October 9, 1958 to Peter Walter Stump and Eleanor Marie Hubbard Saddler. She was born on mile marker 69 between Havre and Chinook in the ambulance. Edwina was the 2 nd youngest of 8 children. She grew up in Rocky Boy where she also attended school. She received her GED at one point in her life and she attended beautician school, which led her to become a master in hair cutting. She had various jobs throughout her life including fighting fire, EMT, dispatcher, cook, cleaner, bingo caller, and baby sitter. She also went to school for automotive and graduated with her Associates in auto mechanics. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved her machines and loved to joke and laugh and always had a story. She was well known by many. Edwina had a huge heart; she would give you her last dollar. She will be greatly missed by her bestie, Guy Crawford Stump, whom she helped raised and loved dearly. She was there to push him in his education and was so proud to see him graduate. She loved all her grandchildren so much, they all made her very proud.
Edwina is survived by her sister, Darleen Stump Brown of Poplar; brothers, Robert and Ronnie Stump of Rocky Boy and Gordon Stump of Salt Lake City, Utah; children, Eleanor (Amanda) Stump, Chad (Nikkianda) Matte; grandchildren, Guy C. Stump, Kaleb Walker, Hailey Marie Matte Walker, Memphis Dale Michael Matte, and Mickie who she helped raise; and a great friend, Grace Ramiso. Edwina had many nieces and nephews and was a grandma to many. They all held a very special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor; father, Peter; brothers, Keith, Bull, and Harold; nephew, Kever; aunt, Delilah Hubbard Weeks; special friend, Donna Martell; and late husband, Michael Matte and all her friends that went before her.
We apologize to the family if we missed you, it wasn’t intentional, mom loved each of you. Rest in peace mama, grandma, sister, aunt. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten. We only part to meet again! We love you so much!
