Elwayne Rush Sr.

February 23, 1974 — August 12, 2021

Elwayne Rush, Sr. our beloved Dad, brother, uncle and nephew made his journey into the spirit world on August 12, 2021 to be with his family that journeyed before him.

Elwayne was born to Elmer Rush and Clara Bow on February 23, 1974 but was raised with much love by Josephine Black Dog. He was raised in Brockton and also attended and graduated from Brockton High School. One of his biggest memories was going to state in 1992 with the Warriors ball team. Elwayne also excelled in cross country in which he also went to state in previous years. After graduation Elwayne did firefighting which took him on many adventures and traveling. He had a big heart with a great sense of humor with his jokes and teasing people, there was never a dull moment when he was around. Family was always most important to him. Elwayne had great respect for his auntie Doris Spotted Bird, his cousin Kari Good Bird, who was his “partner in crime” throughout life, also his special best friend, Freda Christian.

Elwayne leaves behind his cherished children Lavael Shayne of Missoula, MT, Elwade Blake of Brockton, Kobe Rush of Ft. Kipp, Elwayne Jr. of Lawton, OK and Sundown, Daylen and Eljay of Poplar, MT. His sisters Karla (Ira) Ricker, Vernita Bear, Roberta Bird, Kae Roberts, Gina Spotted Bird, Larissa Spotted Bird, Lynette Long Hair, Bernadette Wind, Mary Wetsit and Valerie Todd. Brothers Theo Crowe, Myron Spotted Bird, Bear Roberts and Dean Necklace. Nieces Jody Crawford, Emma Greybull, Melody Bear, Waverly Bear and Jalissa Spotted Bird. Nephews Donald IceMan III, Merlino Bear, Wayan Bear, Randen Bear and Charlie Ricker. Aunt Barbara Birdsbill. Cousins Charlene and Colleen Birdsbill. Elwayne had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Elwayne is preceded in death by his mother Josephine Black Dog, granddaughter Laila Christian, sisters Wilma Bear, Glenda Crawford, Connie Bear, Carlene Spotted Bird, brothers Kenny Spotted Bird, Merlin Yellow Owl, Gerald “Ponce” Bear, Lyle Bear, nephews Gerald Bear, Jr. and Jack Crawford. Nieces Jonita Bear and Miranda Crawford.
