Emily Joyce Day, age 89, of Wolf Point passed away November 10, 2009 at Faith Lutheran Home.
She was born in Poplar, MT, to James Sweeney and Agnes Gives The Blanket on June 25, 1920. Emily graduated from Poplar High School and then attended Utah State University in Logan, UT.
Emily worked as a Home Economics Teacher for twenty years at Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, UT. After living in Brigham City she moved back to the Wolf Point area becoming actively involved in the Red Bottom Committee spending 35 years in the Community.
Emily enjoyed sewing, rodeos, traveling and playing cards.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Christian Windchief, second husband Joe Day, son Sweeney Windchief, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Emily is survived by son Chris “Jay” Windchief (Ona) of Wolf Point; two granddaughters Danielle Bahnsen (Brian) of Wolf Point and Shannon Erickson (Jeff) of Salt Lake City, UT; grandsons Richard “Hawk” Windchief (Sara) of Salt Lake City, Sarelle (Tom) Escarcega of Poplar, Claine and Marit Windchief and Drew Roesler of TX, Cameron Bahnsen of CA, Charlie Erickson and Kjell and Willard Windchief of Wolf Point; nephew John Macdonald (Jean) of Nashua, MT; niece Agnes Johnston of Frazer, MT; special grandson Raymond Jay Johnston of Frazer, MT and partners-in-crime JoBeth Johnston of Frazer and Emily “Crissy” Hamilton of Wolf Point.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Brigham City Cemetery, Brigham City, UT.
