Emma Lu Buckles-Ebarb went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2019 in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born to Florence Russell and Emmett Buckles Sr. on October 18, 1974 in Williston, ND. She had 4 brothers, Dennis, Douglas, Emmett Jr., and Matthew, and 2 sisters, Pearl and Jodi.
Emma had 6 children, Ember, Cameo (Mehsin), Manford Jr., Randy, William, and Robert. She also had 4 grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was also married once and from this union she had her 4 boys who were her joy and lights of her life. Emma, also known as Miss Lu to family and close friends, spent her childhood in Poplar, MT and attended Poplar Schools before attending Kicking Horse Job Corp in Ronan, MT. She received her G.E.D., and then enrolled in classes at FPCC. She was a C.N.A. for 15 years and at one time worked for the Poplar Ambulance, Poplar Hospital and Nursing Home, Faith Home and care facilities in Billings, MT, Garrison, ND, and Mobridge, SD. Emma was a dedicated worker and even had a brief stint as a black jack dealer, cashier, and cook.
Emma visited and lived in many places including but not limited to White Shield, ND, Sioux Falls, SD, and most recently Vermillion, SD.
Emma had many close friends and family, but there were a few she was especially close to Shandera, Sarah, Ronalee, Misty, Dalonna, Sudi Rae, and her aunt/godmother, Jana.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brother, Douglas; cousins, Joseph (Bingo) and Callen; and her best friend, Joey Wilkinson.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Sunday, May 26 at the Poplar Cultural Center. Cremation is to follow. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
