Erma Jacobs

Erma Jacobs, age 81, of Wolf Point, MT passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the NEMHS Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.

Erma was born on February 28, 1930 in Volt, MT; the daughter of Catherine and Albert Henze. She was raised in Volt and in the fall of 1940 they moved to Wolf Point where Erma finished her schooling. She worked at the Rothes Dairy, Service Soft and in the late 1950’s she started work at the Ben Franklin; working there until the early 1960’s.

In 1962, she married George Jacobs, who farmed in McCone County. In 1965, a daughter, Krystal was born and in 1968, a son, Frank was born. Erma has been apart of the Assemblies of God Fellowship since 1940; here she enjoyed teaching Sunday school.

After her children were in school, she went back to work at the Ben Franklin store. She enjoyed embroidering, knitting, painting, crocheting, collecting glassware, gardening and visiting her grandchildren.

Erma was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother; who was committed to sharing her rich faith with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Krystal (Bob) Grafmyre of Wolf Point, and Frank (Sheila) Jacobs of Minot, ND; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Leigha Jacobs of Minot, ND; sister, Louise Pickthorn of Odessa, TX; sister-in-laws Eunice Eckhart of Great Falls, MT, Yvonne Kalien of Sun City, AZ, and Norma Kalien of Wolf Point; several nieces and nephews.

Erma is preceded in death by her husband, George Jacobs; brothers, John Kalien and Willie Kalien; and parents, Catherine and Albert Henze.

Visitation will be held Friday, September, 30 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 1 at the Assembly of God Church in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point.
