Estelle Marie Bear Cub, age 49, of Wolf Point, MT passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
She was born August 21, 1962 in Culbertson, MT the daughter of Lawrence and Almena (Necklace) Red Dog. She grew up and attended schools in
She graduated from Kicking Horse Job Corp in 1979.
Estelle married Verlin Head Carrier in August 1981. They had one son, Lawrence. They divorced in 1982. In August of 1985 she married Ernest Bear Cub in Wolf Point. They had four children, April, China Rose, Orchid LaRae, and Jittawee. She moved to Washington State where she lived for a number of years, then to Billings, MT for a few years and finally coming home to Poplar in 2008.
Estelle worked verily jobs through her life including A&S Industries in Poplar, a construction worker in Bremerton, WA, housekeeper at the Billings Inn in Billings, MT and recently for Home Health Aide in Poplar. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and was always cooking special meals for them. She made the best cabbage rolls. She loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting with her family. She loved her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Almena (Necklace) Red Dog, a son, Brandon Bearcub, a brother, James Red Dog and two sisters, Pamela Red Dog and Carol Cassillas.
Estelle is survived by her children, Lawrence (Brittany) Head Carrier of Poplar, Susan April (Chad) Welch Bear Cub of Wolf Point, China Rose Bear Cub of Scobey, Orchid LaRae Bear Cub of Scobey and Jittawee C. Bear Cub of Florence, CO; seven grandchildren, Amora, Laurencia and Lawrence Head Carrier Jr., Shelica and Damian Deserly, Chasan James and Chad Everette Welch Jr.; six sisters, Rhea (Ron) Starr, Vearlene Red Dog, Lauren (Darin) Red Dog, Kara Red Dog and Doris Red Dog all of Poplar and Bonnie (Johnnie) Youpee of Wolf Point; and two brothers, Richard Hawk of Florence, CO and Maynard Hawk of Poplar.
A Wake will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30 and her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31 all at the Poplar Cultural Center, Poplar. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Poplar.
