Eugene Mckay

September 3, 1963 — April 13, 2010

Eugene “Junebug” McKay, age 46, went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2010 in Billings, MT. He was born to Patrick and Theresa McKay on September 3, 1963 in Tacoma, WA.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, wrestling, watching music videos, telling jokes, traveling, and being with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a hand to anybody who asked or needed help. Family was important to him. He loved pow-wows and liked listening to pow-wow music. He was a fancy dancer in San Francisco when he was younger. He attended Kicking Horse Job Corps in 1978 until 1979 for carpentry and his G.E.D. While attending Kicking Horse, he met Lori Old Horn. From that union came two sons. He helped make his daughters dance outfits and was on the Ft. Kipp pow-wow committee. He worked at the A&S Tribal Industries on the press machine in the late 90’s. Family was very important to him.

While he was in the Billings Hospital he knew he didn’t have much longer to live so he rededicated his life to the Lord. He wanted to make his life right with God before he passed on.

Eugene “Junebug” is survived by his longtime companion Juanita Bird of Poplar, MT; two daughters, Tiffany McKay of Poplar, MT and Alyssa McKay of Poplar, MT; an adopted daughter Jennifer Youpee of Poplar, MT; two sons, Eugene McKay of Spokane, WA and Kevin Old Horn of Glendive, MT; five sisters, Inez McKay of North Dakota, Joyce McKay of North Dakota, Patty McKay of Brockton, MT, Doris McKay of Poplar, MT and Iris McKay of Poplar, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandkids.
