Eugenia Isabelle Jackson (War Club), age 64, of Billings, MT formerly of Poplar, MT left this world peacefully in her sleep on July 20, 2009 in Poplar, MT after attending a pow-wow.
Eugenia was born July 16, 1945 to Robert War Club and Esther Melbourne in Poplar.
Eugenia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy Jackson and Cimeron McKeen of Wolf Point; a son, Robert of Miles City, MT; her two grandchildren, Cimeron, Jr. & Lanica who were her pride and joy; a brother, Gordon Longree (Kat) of Glasgow, MT; three sisters, Maggie Longtree, Myra Longtree and Delilah Martin, all of Glasgow; a special cousin, Maynard Longee of Poplar; and numerous nieces, nephew and extended family.
Eugenia is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Melvin Jackson, her parents Robert War Club and Esther Melbourne, brothers Mark, Dale and Neal, and one sister Linda.
Eugenia enjoyed playing bingo and poker machines, going to pow-wows and watching her grandchildren dance. She loved to make star quilts for family and friends, going to rodeos and spending time with her grandchildren whom were the highlight of her life. She loved to watch Jackson, Inc. Wild Horse Race as much as possible.
After Dad passed away, mom lost her passion for life. She tried for a year to deal with losing the man that she had spent 42 years. She decided it was time for her to leave this world and rejoin her husband and heal her broken heart. Don’t be sad and cry for her. Smile and be happy. My parents are together again and at peace.
A Wake will be held Friday, July 24, 2009 starting at 5:00 p.m. with Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Poplar Cultural Center with interment at St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevensonandsons.com. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
