Fabian Joseph Breitbach was born April 15, 1926, the oldest living son of John and Mary (Hoeser) Breitbach, in Circle, Montana. He died in his home on the morning of July 6, 2008. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, John Jr., who died at birth. Fabian was welcomed by his parents and was joined by brothers Thomas and William.
Fabian won the heart of Irene Sailor, a local teacher, and after returning from his Army service in Korea, April 1947, he made her his bride in June of that year. They settled on the farm and were soon blessed with additions to their family. Paul, Mariann (who died as an infant), Mariann, Patrick, Perry, Roseann, and DeeAnn; completed their family unit and learned on the farm that hard work was important, rewarding, as well as never ending.
Fabian lovingly cared for his wife in their own home during her last several years of declining health and the devotion he showed his partner of fifty-two years was truly remarkable.
Fabian is survived by two brothers, Tom Breitbach of Circle, and William Breitbach of Glendive; his children Paul Breitbach of Lincoln, MT; Mariann Mikes and husband Andy of Billings, MT; Patrick Breitbach and his wife Lynne of Circle, MT; Perry Breitbach and his wife Audrey of Circle, MT; Roseann Knowles and husband Gary of Monmouth, OR; and DeeAnn Sutter and husband Chad of Miles City, MT.
