Floyd Eagle Boy, age 66, of Poplar, MT went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2013 at the Billings Clinic.
Floyd was born on May 25, 1946 to Matthew Eagle Boy and Rose No Breast. He grew up in the Chelsea area and attended school in Poplar. In 1973 Floyd met and married Nancy Simons and together they were blessed with one daughter, Samantha Rae Eagle Boy. Floyd worked at The Gun Factory and A & S Industries; he started at the New Life Mission in 1982 until the time of his passing.
Floyd loved traveling and playing music for the Lord. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was always teasing, joking around, and enjoyed a good meal with everyone. Floyd never hesitated to play music at the House of Prayer, during services, revivals or wakes or just to jam with his brothers and sisters. He also enjoyed cooking and caring for those in need. Floyd took pride in his daughter, nieces, nephews, and grandkids. He also enjoyed teaching his son-in-law how to play the guitar.
Floyd is survived by his daughter, Samantha (Calvin) Mitchell of Missoula, MT; brother, Arnold Eagle Boy of Poplar; sister, Gloria Buckles of Poplar; extended family which include the Red Eagles, Iron Bears, Parshalls, Sparviers, Kidders, Black Thunders, Hopkins, and Buckles; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Also, we would like to mention the Kate Davis and Eliza Johnson families; the Ireland, American Horse, Spotted Bird, and Lambert families, and other families from Standing Rock, ND.
Floyd is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wandi Hoksina and Owanka Duta Win; maternal grandparents, Maku Wanica and Tasunka Hota Win; parents, Matthew and Rose Eagle Boy; siblings, Melvin, Mayme, Mary, Mabel, Nelson, Cynthia, Sandra, Isabelle, Willie, Flora and Irene; and numerous nephews, nieces, and grandchildren.
Cool Floyd will be truly missed by all.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the evening service at 7 p.m. Sunday, February 10 at the Cultural Center in Poplar. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February 11 at the Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment will follow at the Chelsea Cemetery in Poplar.
