Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and cousin, Frances Jackson, age 54, of Wolf Point, MT, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
Frances was born on November 3, 1955 to Mike Ryder and Ruth Hotomani Firemoon on the Assiniboine Reserve. Frances moved to the states in the spring of 1971. Frances met and married Wilbert “Chief” Jackson in 1974. To this union six kids were born. Frances worked at various jobs, she bartended at the Horseshoe Bar, A&S Industries, Frazer Schools, State of Montana, and the last couple of years taking care of her daughter Carlene as a caregiver. Frances loved spending time with her family, playing pool with her children and extended family. She was a devoted Cubs fan.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents Mike Ryder and Ruth Hotomani Firemoon; two sisters, Rosemary Bullchief and Glennis Jack; two brothers, Elvis Hotomani and Reginald Hotomani.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Carlene Jackson and Mary (Grant) Stafne both of Wolf Point and Shannon (Roland) Nez of Havre, MT; three sons, Willy Jackson, Michael Jackson, and Aaron (Chelsea) Jackson all of Wolf Point; special niece, Punkie (Karen McNabb) Jackson of Wolf Point; special nephew, Marlin (Tina) Jackson of Frazer, MT; two sisters, Mildred Hotomani of Carry The Kettle Canada, and Meryle Montclair of Billings, MT; three brothers, Mike (Shirley) Hotomani of Frazer, and Gary (Cindy) Hotomani of Regina, SK, and Terry Ryder of Carry The Kettle (who recently followed her to Heaven on 10-12-10); two sister-in-laws, Mary Sue Jackson of Frazer and Wilberta (Marvin) Toavs of Wolf Point; two brother-in-laws, Clarence Jackson and Emerson Jackson of Frazer; and two step-children, James Jackson and Charmaine (Willy) Jackson both of Wolf Point; and her friend of twelve years, Kenny Wolf of Oswego, MT; and many cousins, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews from Canada and Montana.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, at the Frazer Community Hall in Frazer. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 14, also at the Frazer Community Hall in Frazer. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Frazer.
The family of Frances Jackson gives a special thanks and honor to Dr. Mike Uphuss. Dr. Uphuss gave our family more time to pray and say goodbye to our beloved Frances Jackson. Also, they would like to thank, a special niece Marlyce Jackson for providing the ride to Billings and Ron Clark for being there for Frances and her family in their time of need.
