Franklin D. Buckles, age 46, of Poplar, MT passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Billings Clinic.
Franklin was born on February 15, 1967 in Poplar, MT to Raymond Buckles, Sr. and Gloria (Red Feather) Buckles.
He attended schools in Poplar and graduated from Flandreau, SD. He worked at A&S when he was younger. He enjoyed laughing, joking around, and visiting with family and friends. His easy smile and friendly manner made him friends wherever he went. He will be missed very much.
Franklin is survived by his mother, Gloria Buckles of Poplar; his brothers, Raymond Buckles, Jr. of Fort Totten, ND, Arlyn Chapman, Dana “Sam” Buckles and Henry Buckles of Wolf Point; step-daughter, Nina Prichard and his special grandson, Jordon; step daughter, Billie Jo Black Hoop; step-son, Richard Cantrell, Jr.; special nephews, Joseph Bergie, Jr. and Brandon Buckles of Poplar; special nieces, Chrystal (Taylor) ComesLast, Chantell Buckles, and Tana Buckles; special aunts, Pearl Hopkins, Louise Ell, and Gloria Chopper; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins, too numerous to mention. Extended family includes the Iron Bears, Red Eagles, and Eagle Boys.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Raymond Buckles, Sr.; his brothers, Roger Buckles and Conrad Buckles; his sisters, Francine Buckles, Cissy Buckles and Karen Buckles; and grandparents, Tom and Mary Buckles, and Mary Iron Bear.
A prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, October 3 at the Poplar Assembly of God Church. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 4 at the Poplar Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at the Poplar City Cemetery.
