Frank Hapa Jr.

Our beloved Raisin Eyes, a son, dad, brother, uncle, grandpa and cousin, passed away in Billings, MT on November 18, 2020.

Frank E. Hapa, Jr. was born on December 12, 1976 to Margaret Hapa of Poplar, MT and Frank Hapa, Sr. of Sioux Valley, Manitoba.  Frank liked to play the machines, watch movies, play cards, scratch cards and dance to his favorite music.  He enjoyed going to Pow-wow’s and liked going for walks.

Frank went to Poplar High School and Flandreau High School, Flandreau, SD. In his younger years he was a seasonal fire fighter and worked at Poplar Schools laying cement.  In 1992 his son Habakkuk J. Boyd was born, and he remained close friends with his son’s, until his passing.

Frank is survived by his mother, Margaret Hapa; son, Habakkuk Boyd; daughter, Donessa Red Eagle and granddaughter, Ashtyn Red Eagle; sisters Evanda Red Boy, Ronalee Carpenter; brothers Faron (Debi) Hapa, Arlin (Debra) Hapa, Irvin Whimpy Olson, Sr. and Raymond Olson; aunties, Yvette Todd, Julia Young, Jonelle White, Annie Lester, Laverne Loves Him, Patricia Youngman, Pauline Granbois, Tara Longtree, Flora Hapa, Gwin Hapa and Francis Boyd; cousins , Kenny Olson, Sr., Keith Olson, Allen Menz, Robert Olson, Lester Menz, and his crazy uncle Raymond Hapa from Sioux Valley, Manitoba.

Frank was preceded in death by his dad, Frank Hapa, Sr.; brother, Michael Hapa; grandma, Raquel Menz, Jenny Lester Davis, Sherwin Davis, Kylee Garfield, Evron Davis, Sr., Gene Lester, Charlynn Carpentier, Harlan Walking Eagle III, Merle Hapa, Elizabeth Williams, Herman Hapa, Sr., Vivian Hapa, Michelle Radue (sister-in-law), Gerald Young, Brooklyn Young, Levi (Terry) Olson, Teressa Olson and Andrew White Hawk.

If we failed to mention anyone, please accept our apologies, we did not intend to forget you.  He comes from a large extended family from Montana, Canada and Minnesota. He’s survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, you all know who you are.

Frank you will be forever in our hearts! Until we meet again!

Due to COVID-19 guidelines we are asked to keep attendance at the services limited to 30 individuals. Masks are required for all public services.
